I am a fully qualified and BACP registered integrative counsellor & psychotherapist who is passionate about supporting people to work on themselves. My aim is to support you to grow, to learn, and to become more self aware through our sessions together.
I volunteer within a Devon based support organisation for the neurodivergent community, which I am extremely passionate about. Facilitating groups online primarily.
With many years of work experience within the Mental Health sector; I have learnt skills that I can draw upon within the counselling space. I have worked closely with adults struggling from severe Depression, Anxiety, Self harming tendencies, Suicidal ideation, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia and Psychosis, to name a few. You are in safe hands.
Prior to this, I spent time within the general health and nursing field, within the Royal Devon & Exeter hospital.
I have also been a support worker within a residential home; working with learning disabilities and autism. This is where I later took on a role within the management team.
Personally, I have also grieved and experienced mental health challenges; I am human! I believe this has enabled me to develop a strong empathy and understanding for your experiences as well as giving me the resilience necessary to support you safely and professionally.
Continual professional Development (CPD) is extremely important within the counselling field, to ensure we keep up to date on the ever changing theory, and learn and develop our practice to provide you with the safest support. CPD is also a requirement for our registration, and a value of the ethical framework for British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy.
